Discount grocer Aldi says it’s cutting prices on seasonal produce, lean proteins and staples across U.S. stores, projecting about $86 million in shopper savings.

The reductions run from September 23rd through at least November 3rd.

Nearly one-third of Aldi’s everyday in-store assortment is now priced lower than last year, excluding seasonal or limited-time items, according to the company.

Highlights include Honeycrisp apples at $1.99 for a two-pound bag, 35% below last year and the lowest everyday price in more than five years, plus Kirkwood chicken breast family packs at $1.99 per pound, the lowest since 2022.

Other cuts cover Autumncrisp grapes, Bartlett pears, Brussels sprouts, squash, herbs and potatoes.

ALDI Chief Commercial Officer Scott Patton says the chain is pushing more savings into fall shopping.

“At ALDI, value is a year-round promise, not a promotion. Customers trust us to help them make the most of their grocery budget, and we never stop looking for ways to run our business more efficiently so we can pass along savings.”

The move builds on hundreds of items already cheaper than 2025 prices as larger rivals like Kroger and Walmart also lean into low prices.

Aldi operates more than 2,600 stores nationwide.
