Holders of eligible Asterium Visa and Mastercard cards can now use Apple Pay, an easy, secure, and private way to pay with iPhone and Apple Watch.
Asterium, a licensed fintech ecosystem based in Uzbekistan, has introduced Apple Pay for eligible Visa and Mastercard cards available through Asterium Wallet, becoming one of the country’s first fintech companies to offer the service.
Holders of eligible Asterium cards can use Apple Pay with iPhone and Apple Watch to make contactless payments at merchants that accept Apple Pay and the applicable card network. They can also use Apple Pay on compatible devices to make purchases in apps and on the web where Apple Pay is available.
The launch expands the payment options available to holders of eligible Asterium cards and gives them another convenient way to pay for everyday purchases.
A Simple, Secure, and Private Way to Pay
With Apple Pay, holders of eligible Asterium cards can make contactless payments without carrying a physical card. In apps and on the web, they can check out without repeatedly entering their payment details.
Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When customers use an eligible card with Apple Pay, their actual card number is not shared with merchants. Each transaction is authenticated using Face ID, Touch ID, or a device passcode and uses a unique security code.
Apple Pay is easy to set up. On iPhone, customers can open the Wallet app, tap the Add button, and follow the steps to add an eligible Asterium card. Additional verification may be required. Availability is subject to card eligibility, device compatibility, and the applicable card issuer terms.
Apple Pay does not process crypto assets. Where an eligible Asterium card transaction is funded from a supported crypto-asset balance, any conversion into fiat currency is performed separately by Asterium under the applicable terms. The card transaction is settled in fiat currency.
Advancing Uzbekistan’s Financial Landscape
The introduction comes as Uzbekistan continues to expand its financial infrastructure and adopt internationally recognized technologies.
For Asterium, the milestone reflects a broader commitment to making modern financial services more accessible while supporting the country’s transition toward a cashless economy.
By incorporating globally familiar solutions into its ecosystem, Asterium is strengthening the connection between Uzbekistan’s evolving fintech sector and international standards of financial convenience, security and accessibility.
