Federal prosecutors have charged a California man with conspiracy to commit wire fraud after he allegedly posed as a San Francisco 49ers player or real estate investor to solicit victims for phony high-yield investments.

Daejon Labrayae Delenar Love, 35, of Sacramento County, made his initial appearance Tuesday in federal court in Portland, Oregon, says the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon.

Prosecutors say Love and a co-conspirator created fabricated dating and social media profiles to build trust and relationships with victims before promoting an expedited account investment that promised unusually large returns.

“The indictment further alleges that Love used online dating and social media profiles containing fabricated personal and financial information, developed romantic relationships with victims, and staged displays of wealth to persuade victims to send cash or wire funds.”

The funds were not invested and instead covered personal expenses such as travel, vehicles, clothing and jewelry.

Love pleaded not guilty and remains detained pending trial.

His jury trial is scheduled to begin December 15th, 2026.

A conviction could bring up to 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, a $250,000 fine and forfeiture of property obtained through the scheme.

The FBI conducted the investigation, which prosecutors are handling in the District of Oregon.
