Florida Resident Accused of Draining $130,000 From Elderly Man’s Bank Account

An 86-year-old man in Florida has lost more than $130,000 after a caller posing as a bank employee tricked him into handing over account credentials and drained his brokerage and credit card accounts.

Kashner Nathaniel Revolus, 27, of Miami, has been arrested on charges including organized fraud, grand theft, fraudulent use of a credit card and unlawful use of a communications device, reports NBC 6 South Florida.

According to an arrest report, the victim was contacted on July 21st by someone impersonating a bank representative and deceived into giving personal identification and login details.

The caller then accessed the victim’s Robinhood, Goldman Sachs and E-Trade accounts and ran unauthorized cryptocurrency transactions and wire transfers totaling around $98,000.

During the same call, the victim also said he had left his credit card at a Coral Gables restaurant, and the card was later released to an unknown man after a call from the same number claiming to be a relative.

Unauthorized charges followed, including Apple store purchases at The Falls and Dadeland Mall for iPhones, MacBooks and iPads totaling $36,778.

Surveillance footage showed two men making the buys, and a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office detective identified one as Revolus.

Investigators say the prepaid phone that called the victim had been at Revolus’ home and was later found in his room under a search warrant.

A judge set Revolus’ bond at $45,000 and appointed a public defender.
