Why Is AMD Stock Rallying And Can It Hit A New All-Time High?

AMD’s latest price surge comes in tandem with other fellow tech stocks making similar rallies. Nvidia (NVDA) 2.54% higher on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Intel (INTC) and Micron (MU) also gained 7.67% and 5.50% in the same time frame, respectively.
One major reason behind AMD’s latest price upswing could be the price hike announcement from Nebius, a neocloud operator, for the use of chips across its stack. AMD CPUs (Central Processing Unit), seeing a substantial jump in particular. Nebius said that Nvidia GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) prices would increase from 17% to 21%. AMD’s EPYC Genoa CPU rates, on the other hand, will increase by 25%. The announcement signals strong demand for AI computing.

AMD has seen a massive surge in its datacenter revenue. Year over year revenue rose to $6.7 billion in Q2 2026, a 107% increase. The trend is unlikely to change, given the strong demand for AI compute. AMD’s Helios chips are also expected to deliver strong results, which many say will reflect in the company’s next quarterly earnings. If things go as expected, AMD may hit a new all-time high very soon. Stock price could even breach the coveted $600 mark. Piper Sandler analysts David O’Connor recently reiterated AMD’s stock price target to $600, while maintaining a “buy” signal. We could see this target become a reality very soon.
