Donald Trump’s decision to rename Artificial Intelligence (AI) “Super Intelligence” across the US government might not be random.
It could be an insider move tied to Slovenia, which could make the Trump family millions. At least, that is the explosive allegation surrounding a sudden boom in Slovenia’s .si domains.
Slovenia signed an AI partnership with Washington on September 24. The country owns the .si web suffix and is Melania Trump’s birth country.
According to the BBC, .si registrations exploded. New registrations jumped from fewer than 2,000 in August to roughly 44,000 in September.
Did people close to Trump buy valuable .si domains before the announcement? There is no public evidence that they did.
Who Bought .si Domains Before Trump Said “Super Intelligence”?
Investor and policy consultant Adam Cochran claims the activity began much earlier. He says registrations started rising in June, while AI-related .si names began changing hands at high prices.
“AI-related .si names started going for tens of thousands of dollars,” Cochran wrote.
He claims around 12,000 AI- or MAGA-related domains were registered or changed hands before Trump pushed the rebrand.
Trump floated “Super Intelligence” on Truth Social on September 19 and used the term at the UN on September 22.
On September 29, he signed an executive order requiring federal agencies to use “Super Intelligence” and “SI” instead of AI.
Cochran alleges people in Trump’s inner circle profited from that shift. Economist Roman Sheremeta called the episode an alleged “enrichment ploy.”
The Theory Has No Names
No public record identifies the buyers or connects them to Trump, his family or his inner circle.
Netcraft found a simpler explanation: speculation. A .si name costs about $11 a year, compared with roughly $180 for a minimum two-year .ai registration.
More than half of the .si domains it detected at Dynadot between Trump’s September 19 post and UN speech were later listed for resale.
Meanwhile, Slovenia’s US agreement covers AI, semiconductors, critical minerals and secure supply chains. It mentions no domains.
For now, the domain boom is real. The alleged Trump connection remains unproven.
Cochran says a future Congress should investigate who bought the domains before prices surged.
