Gold / U.S. Dollar FOREXCOM:XAUUSD

This analysis is based on a liquidity-driven price action approach, where I combine market structure, liquidity sweeps, and supply zones to identify high-probability reversal opportunities.

After forming a strong bullish impulse, price is approaching a higher-timeframe supply zone that aligns with previous institutional selling pressure. This area also sits near an important liquidity pool (L-SWEEP), making it a potential location for smart money to take liquidity before initiating a bearish move.

Trade Idea
Market: XAUUSD (Gold)
Timeframe: 30 Minutes
Bias: Bearish only after confirmation
Key Area: Marked Supply Zone
What I'm Waiting For

I am not selling immediately when price reaches the supply zone.

Instead, I need to see a clear bearish confirmation pattern, such as:

Bearish Engulfing Candle
Evening Star
Strong Rejection Wick
Break of Minor Market Structure (BOS)
Change of Character (CHOCH)
Lower High Formation

Without confirmation, I will stay patient because strong momentum can easily break through resistance.

Why This Zone Matters
Previous institutional selling area.
Confluence with a liquidity sweep level.
Price is rallying aggressively, which often attracts breakout buyers.
Smart money may use this liquidity before reversing the market.
Trading Plan

Scenario 1 – Preferred Setup

Price enters the supply zone.
Forms a bearish confirmation pattern.
Enter short after confirmation.
Stop Loss above the supply zone.
Target previous demand zones or liquidity lows.

Scenario 2 – No Confirmation

If price closes strongly above the supply zone, I will avoid selling.
The bearish setup becomes invalid until a new structure develops.
Risk Management

Every setup has uncertainty. A supply zone is only an area of interest—not a guaranteed reversal point. Confirmation and proper risk management are essential. Never risk more than your trading plan allows.

Key Lesson:
Patience is the edge. I don't predict reversals—I wait for price to confirm them. Let the market show weakness inside the supply zone before committing to a trade.
