USOil trade results from January 26, 2026.

WTI CRUDE OIL TVC:USOIL

Outcome: I was stopped out for a loss.

The main mistake was misidentifying part of the bullish move as a confirmed swing level. I gave too much weight to the one-hour structure and the fractal indicator instead of patiently reading the four-hour market structure.

I believed a higher low had been broken and treated it as a bearish indication. Looking back, the true swing low was much lower, and the broader structure was still clearly bullish. Rather than looking for a short, I should have waited for confirmation above the developing level and looked for a long with the stop behind the true swing low.

The alternative setup could have offered significantly more reward, potentially toward the next major four-hour or daily selling level.

My key lessons:

• Identify the true swing structure before entering.• Give more weight to the four-hour chart than minor one-hour fluctuations.• Use indicators as supporting tools, not as substitutes for reading price.• Stay patient while a swing is still developing.• Confirm the trend, position size, risk, and intended holding period before execution.

This loss reinforced why I review my trades. The goal is not to avoid every loss—it is to understand them, improve the process, and remain consistently profitable.
