XAUUSD H4: Can Bulls Defend Demand Before the Next Breakout?
Market Structure
Gold is entering a critical phase on the H4 timeframe after printing a bullish Change of Character (ChoCH) from the recent lows. While the broader trend has yet to fully reverse, buyers have finally shown enough strength to interrupt the previous bearish sequence.
Price is now trading between a well-defined demand zone below and a descending trendline that continues to cap upside momentum. This creates a compression structure where the next breakout is likely to determine the direction for the coming week.
What I'm Watching
The first area of interest remains the H4 Order Block around 3960-3975.
If price revisits this zone and buyers defend it, I expect liquidity to build before another attempt toward higher resistance.
The key upside levels are:
- 4045 – Current pivot
- 4084 – First resistance
- 4120 – Major liquidity cluster
- 4202 – Higher-timeframe objective if momentum expands
A clean break above 4120 would significantly strengthen the bullish case and open the path toward the next liquidity target near 4200.
Alternative Scenario
If the demand zone fails to hold, the recent ChoCH would become invalid and sellers could regain short-term control.
That would suggest the market is still respecting the broader bearish structure rather than beginning a new impulsive uptrend.
For now, I prefer waiting for confirmation instead of chasing price in the middle of the range.
My Bias This Week
Bullish while above the H4 Order Block.
The current structure favors accumulation rather than immediate continuation lower. As long as buyers defend demand, I believe gold has room to challenge the descending trendline and potentially trigger a larger breakout.
