SOFI: Fundamentals Diverging From Price, $30 Target
Setup:
SOFI is up more than 20% since its Q2 earnings release, currently at $18.38, back above the 200 EMA it spent most of the year trading under. Reclaiming resistance at $20 opens the door toward $30, the level the stock last held before its late-2025 top.
Why the fundamentals support this:
✅ Revenue $1.22B, up 40% YoY
✅ Net income up 61%
✅ Record $14.8B in loan originations
✅ 1.1 million new members added, the best quarter for member growth in company history, pushing total to 15.8M, up 35% YoY
✅ Tangible book value up 80% YoY to $9.5B
✅ Management raised full-year guidance off the back of this
✅ Expanding into new territory with SoFi Crypto and its own SoFiUSD stablecoin, both live now
The gap worth watching:
The stock is still down 30% year-to-date despite every one of these numbers moving in the right direction. Fundamentals have already turned, price is just catching up.
Bias: Long.
First resistance to clear at $20, target $30 above that. Invalidated on a close back below $15 support.
Timeframe:
Multi-week to multi-month swing, this is a fundamentals-catching-up-to-price story, not a fast trade.
