Elon Musk-led company SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) had a historic stock IPO launch in June that sent his net worth soaring above $1 trillion. It was priced at $150 on its debut day but dipped below the launch price in July. SPCX is still below $150, as it opened Monday’s trading session hovering at the $140 level. The market has displayed mixed reactions to the equity as its price is experiencing high volatility.
On the heels of the recent grind, the latest 13F quarterly SEC filing sheds light that 5 billionaires have bet big on SpaceX stock. The rich list is focused on space exploration and expects it to be the next frontier. The company currently dominates the satellite communications sphere, with Amazon conceptualizing a similar idea. While the competition could take years to form, the Elon Musk-led company currently enjoys a monopoly in the sector.
