Geopolitics, Energy Risk & The Road Toward Higher Levels
🛢️ WTI Crude Oil — Weekly Analysis | Geopolitics, Energy Risk & The Road Toward Higher Levels
Hello and welcome, TradingView friends! 👋📊
I hope your trading is going great. In this analysis, we’ll look at WTI Crude Oil from both a fundamental and technical perspective and explore whether the current market environment could create the conditions for a larger bullish move. 🛢️🔥
🌍 Fundamental Analysis | Geopolitical Risk & Global Energy Uncertainty
The oil market is one of the assets most sensitive to geopolitical risk. With tensions and instability in the Middle East remaining elevated, any disruption to major energy transportation routes could increase supply-side risks and create a stronger risk premium in crude oil prices. ⚠️🌍
At the same time, global economic uncertainty, production policies from major oil-producing countries, inventory levels, and the outlook for energy demand can all play an important role in determining the future direction of WTI.
For this reason, crude oil is not only a trading asset in the current environment; it can also attract investor interest as a potential hedge against inflation and geopolitical risk. 🛢️💰
However, it is important to remember that rising geopolitical tensions do not automatically guarantee higher oil prices. If global economic growth weakens significantly or energy demand declines, demand-side pressure could offset supply-related risks.
📈 Technical Analysis | Weekly Chart
Now let's move to the weekly chart. 👀📊
Looking at the current structure, price has shown a strong reaction from the bottom of the weekly range box after spending a considerable amount of time moving sideways within this range. 🟢
This reaction may indicate that buyers are becoming active at lower levels. But the more important development is the breakout of the key resistance highlighted on the chart.
This resistance is located around the upper boundary of the range, and a confirmed breakout could potentially open the door for higher price levels. 🚀
In the bullish scenario, if price manages to hold above the breakout area and successfully turns this former resistance into support, the probability of further upside could increase.
🎯 From a medium- to long-term perspective, such a scenario could potentially open the path toward significantly higher levels, including the $150 area and beyond.
But there is one very important point:
⏳ This does not necessarily mean a fast move.
The oil market can experience significant corrections, consolidation, and volatility along the way. Therefore, if WTI eventually reaches much higher levels, it could be a process that takes considerable time.
⚠️ Don't Ignore the Bearish Scenario
No price breakout guarantees continuation.
If price falls back below the breakout area and the breakout turns into a False Breakout, the current bullish thesis would weaken, increasing the probability of a return toward the previous trading range. 🔄
Therefore, from my perspective, holding above the broken resistance will be one of the key factors to watch for confirmation of the bullish scenario.
🗳️ What Do You Think?
Which scenario do you think WTI will follow over the coming months? 🤔
🟢 Bullish: The range breakout continues and crude oil moves toward 100 → 120 → 150$ over the medium to long term.
🔴 Bearish: The current breakout fails and price returns back inside the range.
🟡 Range: The market continues consolidating and trading sideways for an extended period.
