BTC: The 65,000 Resistance Bounce Hides a Flaw

BTC: The 65,000 Resistance Bounce Hides a Flaw

My original plan looked clean: short BTC at 64,700 after a bounce from 65,000, target 62,570, stop 65,435. The deeper structure showed hidden risk, forcing me to redesign every level.

The 4h downtrend kept my bearish thesis intact, but the trade construction contradicted the evidence. My 64,700 entry sat only 8.1 points above 4h support at 64,680-64,691.9 while the 1h and 15m structures were bullish.

I shifted the entry to 65,391.3, the exact lower edge of four-touch 4h resistance and a discrete 1h resistance. It also sits above the 14-day VAH at 64,998.7, giving me a premium short aligned with the 4h trend.

I raised my target from 62,570 to 64,360. The new TP sits ahead of the fresh 15m bullish FVG at 64,286.5-64,351.8 and above 4h support at 64,250, so I can monetize a rejection without requiring a full breakdown.

I placed the stop at 65,800, beyond the 4h resistance high at 65,722.5 and the 1h ceiling at 65,780. My original 65,435 stop sat inside resistance, where ordinary testing or a liquidity sweep could have ended the trade too early.

My original 2.90 R used 735 points of risk and 2,130 points of reward, but depended on several supports failing. The revised 2.52 R risks 408.7 points for 1,031.3 points and exits before nearby demand, preserving asymmetry with safer placement.
